Beauty Dare: Pressotherapy
I don't obsess over my thighs, but I wouldn't be a human chick if once in a while I didn't think the grass could be greener, right? So, I was a little excited about leg pressotherapy, $65, this treatment that uses "air massage" to get rid of fluid retention and swelling. I showed up at fancy Ajune Medical Day Spa (212-628-0044) in New York, where they put naked me on a table, dimmed the lights, then smoothed peppermint oil on my legs and put them in Saran Wrap. Next, they zipped me into a pair of thigh-high rubber boots. And it gets weirder. The booties are hooked up to an air-pump machine that literally presses your legs to the point where it's semi-uncomfortable, like getting your blood pressure taken, and them releases them. This went on for 20 minutes. Afterward. I felt lighter and my jeans seemed looser. Plus now I can cross pressotherapy off my things-to-do-list. Finally.
