A new airbrush technique promises a streak-free tan for spring.
The fake bake, from bottle or bed, has always been something of a New York spring ritual, but as anyone who indulges knows all too well, darkened cuticles and stray lines near the collarbone don’t exactly suggest a weekend spent in Saint-Tropez. This season New York spas are betting the tan of the future will be virtually streak-free–and will come out of an airbrush. Upper East Side medi-spa Ajune follows a similar treatment, layering the color to compliment your natural skintone, with a thorough buffing with an antioxident-based tanning mist. “The exfoliation beforehand is fabulous,” says the fashion consultant Ellin Saltzman, a recent convert. “And the result couldn’t look any better.”
